Cave Tubing Adventure
Looking for adventure? Perhaps one you will never forget? This cave tubing adventure is surely one you will remember for years to come. Belize is a natural paradise filled with many wonders and the Caves are only one. After being at the bottom of the ocean a least three times in its history, Belize’s landscape comprises of limestone, made from shells, corals and the skeletal remains of dead sea creatures. After years of seasonal rains, high up in the Maya mountains of Belize, many rivers where born and flowing water over this type of porous rock, started eroding the limestone creating a passage way into an underground realm that is out of this world, unbelievable and amazing.
The Mayas who occupied Belize thousands of years ago, considered these caves as Sacred. The Mayas only visited these caves periodically to conduct important rituals. Caves were considered sacred because they represented portals or entrances into the underworld. Within this underworld lived important deities such as the rain god, earth god, spirits of the deceased ancestors, and evil gods of death and diseases. This Cave Tubing Adventure is not just fun and exciting, but filled with history and cultural beliefs.

Once there, the fun starts with a walk through the jungle, and through some dry caves. During your walk, you will learn about some medicinal plants and roots, and the importance of some trees you will see for the first time in your life. It will definitely give you a feel for the rich jungles of Belize. Upon reaching the entrance of the cave, you will sit on your inner tubes, secure your headlights and float with the gentle currents through this amazing sacred place. The cool water will not only contribute to a refreshing sensation, but will loosen you up into a relaxing mood; taking you away from the concrete jungle and the hassle of your everyday life. Jungle Zipline
When was the last time you did sometime for the first time? Well, this could be your first time to experience Belize’s dense jungle by getting a bird’s eye view of the canopy over 80 feet high. Ever imagine soaring through the trees defying gravity and screaming not from fear, but from excitement? This adventure is a must do while here Belize. Located only an hour from Belize City, in the heart of the Jungle and only a stone throw away from the caves, is an area for Zippin‘ from tree tops to tree tops attached to cables and pulleys.
Guests are picked up from their resort or hotel as early as 6am to take a flight over to the mainland. It’s just a short 15 minute flight over to the municipal airport in Belize City where you will board our air condition van and head off to your destination. Our guides will enlighten you about Belize City as you drive through and about Belize along the way to the place where we do the Zipline. Once there, your guides will gear you up with helmet, gloves and safety seated harness along with a quick briefing and then you’re off like birds in the trees. There is a short hike to the first platform and then away you go, traversing from platform to platform. After the last platform you will repel down to the ground. This adventure has been quite an attraction for many visitors and indeed tested very safe.

The Belize Zoo “The best little Zoo in the world”
The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center started in 1983 with only a collection of wild animals that were used in making a documentary film about tropical forests. In an effort to provide a home for these animals, today the Zoo boast over 125 animals all native to Belize, all in their natural habitat over 29 acres of tropical savanna. The animals who resides here were orphaned, born at the zoo, rehabilitated animals or sent here as gifts, from other zoological institutions. Yap, so there are no giraffes, elephants, nor polar bears here. You will only see animals like the jaguar, howler monkeys, tapir, toucan birds, harpy eagle, scarlet macaw, and a bunch of snakes just to name a few.

It’s just a short 15 minute flight over to the municipal airport in Belize City where you will board our air condition van and head off to the Zoo. This little, but wonderful place is located only about 45 minutes from Belize City. Our guides will enlighten you about Belize City as you drive through and about Belize along the way to the zoo. Once there, you will get a guided tour of the zoo, where your guides will tell you all about the animals. This tour is perfect for families with children. This tour can also be combined with cave tubing for double the fun, which is not far away, only another 20 minute ride and you are there.

Xunantunich Mayan Ruins
Xunantunich, meaning “maiden of the rock”, or “stone woman” in Maya, is a classic period ceremonial center with one of the tallest Mayan temples in the country, over a hundred thirty feet in height. Many archeologists studied this Mayan site for over a hundred years and is one of the most refurbished and excavated Mayan site in Belize. Data from Xunantunich suggest that it was successful in the Terminal Classic Period (A.D. 750-900). A first hand experience is best recommended to the history seekers to discover the world of the Maya. It is a beautiful sight standing around tall limestone temples built thousand of years ago by the great Maya civilization that left us this mysterious place.

Also there are mild gentle currents through the caves system.

Lamanai Mayan Ruins
Lamanai is the Mayan word for “submerged crocodile”. The site’s name was recorded by a missionary in the 17th Century. It is one of the only site retaining its original name. Most other sites derive their names from the archaeologist who discovered or investigated them. Archaeologist Dr. David Prendergast, who worked at the site from 1974 to 1988, comments that the name helps to explain the numerous crocodile motifs at the site. Crocodile effigies appear on figurines, vessel decorations, and on the large head-dress on a limestone mask at one of the principal structures at the site.
Lamanai lies on the New River Lagoon, and the most spectacular manner to travel to the site is by boat. Numerous species of water birds live along the river and lagoon. A trip to Lamanai is a nature-lover’s heaven. You may even be lucky enough to view iguanas and crocodiles as they bask in the sun on the river banks. There are also interesting flora and fauna to be seen at the Lamanai reserve.

You will drive up northern Belize to board a boat that will take us there. Our guides will also enlighten you all about Belize along the way, giving you an insight of our wonderful country. The boat ride is an adventure by itself. Upon reaching the ruins, your guide will educate you about the life of the Mayan people, their history, cultures, beliefs, astronomical discoveries, agriculture, and architecture. You will also get a chance to climb and photograph this magnificent architecture of the Mayas. The location of this ancient ruin only allow us to do it by itself with no combination. This is also an incredible site to see.

Horseback Riding Adventure
Belize, a land rich with dense jungles, many rivers along with its abundance in wildlife; there is no better way to experience this than on the backs of horses. Take a journey off the beaten path and explore the rainforest, riding on trails that seem to be leading no where. Just beyond the many trees in the canopy, there is the Belize River, used by logwood cutters many years ago as a passage way for timber to reach out to the Caribbean Sea. Ride on the river banks, but look high in the trees; you might see howler monkeys eating away in the fig trees or listen closely to the many species of birds flying by. This is a fun and exciting adventure you must try out for yourself.

A.T.V. Jungle Adventure
Catch the adventure! Be one with nature! Come, let’s explore the jungle riding ATVs along muddy pathways and inhale the fresh smell of rich vegetation. Discover many species of plants and trees while learning about their use for medicinal or healing purposes. Look up high; you will see many species of birds flying by, maybe even a toucan. This is a trilling adventure riding and manoeuvring your own ATV around huge trees under the canopy in the dense rainforest. Be advised, the wet trails will make this tour quite exciting while getting dirty. Yea, it might rain in the rainforest… This is a new, but fun filled adventure you won’t want to miss.

ATM Cave (Actun Tunichil Muknal)
There are many caves in Belize, many have been explored and archaeologists have discovered many secrets in this underworld. Caves are considered sacred because it was a place where the Mayas performed blood letting and sacrifices. Hidden deep inside this cave are the mysteries of the ancient Mayan civilization. Left thousands of years ago by the Mayas, are many pottery artifacts and amazingly human skeletal remains cemented in limestone. Used for transporting their offerings, pottery artifacts are all over this dark, beautiful place. Inside archaeologists found skeletal remains of a young girl still in tact, who was sacrificed thousand of year ago. To add to the amazement of the relics found inside, is the sight of the natural crystal formations that fills the cathedral size chambers of this cave. Of all the caves in Belize this cave is one you should take the chance to explore.

The location is an hour and half drive from Belize City and off the main highway. Deep in the jungle some seven miles in, there is a parking area where you will have to hike from to get to the entrance of the cave. This is an extreme caving adventure that involves hiking through the jungle and swimming at the entrance of the cave. The objective is to get to a huge dry crystal chamber inside the cave where you will have to take your shoes off and explore. Your head lights will reveal stalactites, stalagmites, flow stones along with many other formations, but the real highlight of the cave are the many pottery artifacts, bones and skulls found all over the floor of the chamber. Then, up high in another chamber, accessible only by climbing up a ladder, is the most amazing sight of the human skeletal remains of a young girl. So if you are adventurous and want to discover the mysteries of the Mayas, come let us take you inside.

Level of difficulty High, this is an extreme adventure that involves hiking through the jungle and across rivers. You will have to swim to enter the cave as well. Some climbing is also required to get up in the upper chamber of the cave. If you have any physical problems please let us know.
Note: There are no bathroom facilities in the area, out house only. All personal belongings can be stored and locked in the van. Our guides are highly trained in cave rescue and assure a safe, but amazing experience. This adventure is rather easy if you are in good physical condition. So don’t be too worried, we took guests who were at least 50 years of age before.
Barton Creek Cave Canoeing
Take a journey back in time and discover the mysteries of the Maya. The ancient Maya worship their gods in this pitch black cave environment. A canoe equipped with powerful spotlight illuminate the realm of the spirits. Paddle your way in and explore a cave only accessible by canoes or kayaks. Listen to the soft sound of your echo bouncing against the walls. You will be amazed by the size of this cave as your lights reveal the many formations along with bats flying about inside. Hidden deeper inside this underground world are pottery artifacts left behind by the Mayas who performed many sacrificial offering to their gods. So unwind and leave your fears behind, experience the adventure.

Deep in the jungle through a Mennonite community is where you will have to hike from to get to the entrance of the cave, and then canoe inside. This extreme caving adventure involves hiking through the jungle and canoeing through this underground world. So be adventurous and discover the world of the Mayas.

Black Hole Drop (cave rappelling)
Overcome your fears of heights! Rappel down over 300 feet to the bottom of a huge sink hole. Along with the many caves found in Belize, there are sink holes. These were caves, but the top collapse forming a huge space up above. Up high, are platforms for a slow decent into a dark, but amazing place, the Black Hole. The views of the Maya mountains, the many trees in the emergent layer of the canopy and the cool breeze will definitely send you into an adventure mode. Face your fears and experience this adrenaline rush. When you get down to the bottom, look up, and smile, you did it! This is an extreme adventure that involves hiking to get to the top of the sink hole. Along the side of the rim of the Black Hole is where you leave for your decent. Strapped in a seated harness, fully equipped, you rappel down.

It is just a short 15 minute flight over to the municipal airport in Belize City, where you will board our air condition van and head off to your destination. The location is an hour and a half drive from Belize City at the foothills of the Maya mountains. Once there, you will leave the parking lot to start your hike through the jungle. Along the way you will learn all about the trees and plants seen on the way. Upon reaching the top of the sinkhole, you will get a safety briefing, and then you will gear up and descend down 300 feet to the bottom of this dark cave. After the rappelling, you will hike back to where you started. This is an amazing adventure, full of excitement and a daring experience.

Tikal Mayan Ruin (Guatemala)

Seen in many movies like ‘Apocolypto’ and ‘2012’, is this magnificent Mayan ruin of ancient times. The name Tikal may be derived from ti ak'al in the Yucatec Maya language; it is said to be a relatively modern name meaning "at the waterhole". The name was apparently applied to one of the site's ancient reservoirs by hunters and travelers in the region. It has alternatively been interpreted as meaning "the place of the voices" in the Itza Maya language. At any rate, Tikal is not the ancient name for the site but rather the name adopted shortly after its discovery in the 1840s. Hieroglyphic inscriptions at the ruins refer to the ancient city as Yax Mutal or Yax Mutul, meaning "First Mutal". The Tikal National Park covers an area of 575.83 square kilometres (222.33 sq mi). It was created on 26 May 1955 under the auspices of the Instituto de Antropología y Historia and was the first protected area in Guatemala.
The ruins lie among the tropical rainforests of northern Guatemala that formed the cradle of lowland Maya civilization. The city itself was located among abundant fertile upland soils, and may have dominated a natural east—west trade route across the Yucatan Peninsula. Conspicuous trees at the Tikal park include gigantic kapok (Ceiba pentandra) the sacred tree of the Maya; Tropical cedar (Cedrela odorata), and Honduras Mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla). Regarding the fauna, agouti, white-nosed coatis, gray foxes, spider monkeys, howler monkeys, harpy eagles, falcons, wild turkeys, guans, toucans, green parrots and leafcutter ants can be seen there regularly. Jaguars, jaguarundis, and cougars are also said to roam in the park. For centuries this city was completely covered under jungle. Our guests are picked up from their resort or hotel as early as 6am to take a flight over to the mainland. It is just a short 15 minute flight over to the municipal airport in Belize City, where you will board our air condition van and head towards the Guatemalan border. Once there, we will cross into Guatemala, switch vans and start our way towards Tikal. The journey is very scenic, and include stops along the way for shopping at local gift shops and for restroom breaks. After a two hour journey into Guatemala we will arrive at Tikal. Once there you will get a guided tour of the site, take pictures, climb some temples and when satisfied we will head back to Belize. Since this is an overnight adventure, we will be staying at a resort in San Ignacio town over on the Belize side, near the Belize/Guatemalan borders. You will be able to roam the town in the night, maybe even enjoying some tacos or burritos.
Early the following morning, we will pick you up and start our day with a journey towards the caves. Yes, we will take you cave tubing, giving you another adventure you will not forget. After that tour into the Mayan underworld, we will head back to Belize city where you will take a flight back to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.

Level of difficulty Medium, it is an easy stroll through the jungle on a relatively flat path all around at the ruins. Climbing might take some energy though. Tubing is rather easy as well, flat paths and slow currents.

Jungle Zipline
When was the last time you did sometime for the first time? Well, this could be your first time to experience Belize’s dense jungle by getting a bird’s eye view of the canopy over 80 feet high. Ever imagine soaring through the trees defying gravity and screaming not from fear, but from excitement? This adventure is a must do while here Belize. Located an hour from Belize City, in the heart of the Jungle and only a stone throw away from the caves, is an area for Zippin‘ from tree tops to tree tops attached to cables and pulleys.
Pick up is done right outside the Tourist Village (the place where a tender will drop you off from your ship), where you will board our air condition van and head off to your destination. Our guides will enlighten you about Belize City as you drive through and about Belize along the way to the place where we do the Zipline. Once there, your guides will gear you up with helmet, gloves and safety seated harness along with a quick briefing and then you’re off like birds in the trees. There is a short hike to the first platform and then away you go, traversing from platform to platform. After the last platform you will repel down to the ground. This adventure has been quite an attraction for many visitors and indeed tested very safe.
This Zipline adventure can also be combined with Cave Tubing adventure for double the fun.

The Belize Zoo “The best little Zoo in the world”
The Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center started in 1983 with only a collection of wild animals which has been used in making a documentary film about tropical forests. In an effort to provide a home for these animals, today the Zoo boast over 125 animals all native to Belize all in their natural habitat over 29 acres of tropical savanna. The animals who resides here were orphaned, born at the zoo, rehabilitated animals or sent here as gifts from other zoological institutions. Yap, so there are no giraffes, elephants, nor polar bears here. You will only see animals like the jaguar, howler monkeys, tapir, toucan birds, harpy eagle, scarlet macaw, and a bunch of snakes just to name a few.

This little, but wonderful place is located only about 45 minutes from Belize City. Once there, you will get a guided tour of the zoo, where your guides will tell you all about the animals. After the tour at the Zoo, we will head back, but will stop at Old Belize Museum on the way. This new place has recently been open to introduce visitors to the natural History of Belize. The museum is a representation of the Belize Rainforest, to Maya Culture, through the first Belizean Settlement time line all the way to the present day. There is also the Old Belize Restaurant and Bar area which you can all enjoy. The man made Cucumber Beach offers beach chairs canoes, rafts and jumping water trampoline and are available for use. Altun Ha Mayan Ruin

Altun Ha meaning “Rock stone Pond is located 31 miles north of Belize City on the old northern highway only six miles from the coasts. Altun Ha was inhabited around 200B.C. until around 250A.D. when the pinnacle of the Mayan civilization began. The area around Altun Ha is rich in wild life like armadillos, foxes, crocs, tapir and the white tail deer among many others. The wonderful sound of the many birds residing in the area, over 200 hundred species are heard near by. Altun Ha was a wealthy ceremonial and trading center that situated two main plaza and thirteen structures. An unusual characteristic of this site is that no stelae were found. Also found here in 1968 was the famous Jade Head which was excavated along with many other valuable goods. So undoubtedly, this site is also cool to visit.
