| Poots "Tittiman" Flores entertains on Belize Night, the
extravaganza of the festival
|
Belize takes over on Saturday
night and introduces a new rhythm to the festival. Belize being the only
English speaking country of the Mundo Maya, with British influence and a
Caribbean lifestyle adds a new gusto to the festival. Reggae, Punta,
Soca and Calypso is what the descendants of the Maya in Belize enjoy.
They have adopted this music from the Caribbean fellowmen that together
today make Belize.
Also on Belize Night international flavor is added to the festival. The
first year Denyse Plumber entertained the crowd, last year it was the
Garifuna Kids of California and for this year the Festival Committee is
planning on a Caribbean singer.
