San Pedro People's Choice BBQ Sauce-Off (by chunkyruth)
In the big debate between who has the best BBQ, one could argue that it is a three-way tie between “Memphis” style, “Kansas City” Style and even “Texan” style. Now even a bigger debate would be who has the best BBQ Sauce! Organizers of the first annual People’s Choice BBQ Sauce contest want residents to mark their calendars for November 23.
>Long time visitor and very good friend to the island, John Robilio, has organized the island’s first BBQ sauce competition which will double as a charity event. Scheduled for Sunday, November 23, at BC’s Beach Bar, the event calls for all those who believe that they have the perfect BBQ sauce in town. So if you think you have a good BBQ sauce, then by all means please enter as your sauce can either be homemade or pre-bottled and we will accept all styles (Ketchup based, Mustard based, and Vinegar based) for the contest.
Anybody can be a judge at the event. People wanting to judge will have to pay for an official ballot that will give them the opportunity to sample all of the entries and then vote on their favorite. The winner of the first annual San Pedro BBQ Sauce cook-off will donate the announced winnings to a charity of their choice.
