Overfishing of conch
These were taken in Basil Jones/Robles. It upsets us all the time to come across these shell piles within the Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve. Having seen fisheries collapse in the Pacific Northwest and California during my lifetime, I wish Belize would listen to the gringo's this time. Very few northern California kids know what abalone tastes like, because of over fishing. Who will eat the last conch?
