ABOUT THE ARTIST
Lee Vanderwalker-Kroll is a native Detroiter and world traveler, who studied the serti-technique of silk painting at Stadt Universitat in Bamberg, Germany while maintaining a studio for two years. She says, "moving to Belize, was realizing a decade-long dream of being a full time artist, painting in an environment that I love".

Like snapshots in a vacation photo album, her paintings are moments of experience arrested by intuitive recognition of their universal appeal. Her images of the Caribbean are stunning and bright, flashes of pure color, recalling the freshness of naïve art. Exuberant color and simple, freely drawn figures present a primitive naturalness and energy.

Her Caribbean Colors collections appear in private and public collections throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, England, The Netherlands, Germany and Belize. Metro Detroiter's know her best for the watercolor art that appears in Chuck Muer Restaurants' Menus.

Lee has kindly donated four numbered, limited edition prints to the Saga Society to help raise funds at this year's annual fundraiser.
