It was a heated match up to say the least. Down to the last minute, any of the two teams could have taken the big W. At the end of the fourth quarter, C’s was the one who broke open the bottle of champagne as they were crowned San Pedro Basketball League (SPBL) Champions for 2009. With a final score of 69-63, C’s managed to defeated Tarpon and take the crown.
After many weeks of battle, players from Belize City, Caye Caulker and San Pedro, enjoyed the Championship match which was held at the Angel Nunez Auditorium. Games and raffles were also held and many got the opportunity to attempt half court shots. It was a fantastic sport night and spectators are already asking, “When is the next one?”
