Paulita Guerrero was crowned Miss Chiquitita 1998/99 on Saturday night, May 30th, at Central Park.
Six lovely little girls vied for the title on Saturday night: Erica Acosta, 5 - sponsored by Rock's Shopping Center, Samira Acosta, 6 - sponsored by Little People, Noéllie Alamilla, 6 - sponsored by Pete's Enterprises, Raquel Badillo, 4 - sponsored by Banyan Bay, Diana Cocom, 5 - sponsored by Elvi's Kitchen and Paulita Guerrero, 6 - sponsored by Island Kidz.
Master of Ceremonies was Mr. Angel Nuñez. Judges for the competition were: Dr. Roberto Toriz, Ms. Lane Llewellyn, Ms. Alexandra Nicholson, Mrs. Ceni Greif and Mrs. Cheryl Fox. The pageant commenced with the introduction of the six contestants. They modeled bathing suits and introduced themselves to the judges and audience. Barbara Alonzo's Dance Group entertained during intermissions. Miss Chiquitita 1997/98 Yanine Ruiz and Escarlet Delgado (a 1997 Miss Chiquitita contestant) also gave dance performances. Contestants performed a group dance along with Miss Chiquitita 1997/98 Yanine Ruiz. For the talent competition each contestant imitated a popular Spanish music artist.
Oscar Pinelo and Gyel Kumul escorted the contestants on stage during the evening gown competition. The six beauties paraded on stage in their elegant evening wear and chatted with the MC while judges tabulated the scores. Miss Talent was selected by the audience and awarded to Miss Diana Cocum. Miss Photogenic was awarded to Miss Noéllie Alamilla and Miss Raquel Badillo was named Miss Amity. Paulita Guerrera was announced as Miss Chiquitita 1998/99 at the end of the evenings activities.
