The Island Academy is a primary school with classes from Beginners to Standard VI or Kindergarten to Grade Eight. Each class consists of no more than 15 students. Located beachfront in the heart of San Pedro, we offer students and families an education benchmarked to prepare children for the future. The Island Academy aims to provide, within a disciplined and caring framework, the educational and social foundations necessary to allow and encourage children to develop their potential.
As the world continues to shrink and become a global society, all students must develop an appreciation of individual differences and gain a broad perspective on the world as a whole.
At The Island Academy, students are encouraged to contribute their own individual talents, strengths and perspectives to all of the student body and the faculty.
To graduate from The Island Academy, students must successfully complete courses in Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies and Spanish. Enrichment courses consisting of Art and Physical Education will also be a part of the curriculum, to name a few. We promote a safe environment with consideration and co-operation and a belief that the positive aspects of life arise from good relationships, unselfishness, thoughtfullness and good manners.
The Island Academy structure is outlined in our Student Handbook. Here you will find information regarding tuition, academic requirements, the grading system, appearance and dress code, student conduct, faculty, and in general about our daily life.
